Why us
Why Gosforth homeowners choose us
Time-served in five trades
Bricklaying, joinery, plastering, plumbing and electrical — served properly, not picked up on the way. In the industry since 1986.
Ex-Forces owned
8 years in the British Army between two stints in the trade. Timekeeping and tidiness are not extras here.
One firm for the whole job
Groundworks, brickwork, joinery, plastering, plumbing and electrical under one roof. You are not hiring five trades and refereeing when they blame each other.
The local picture
Builders in Gosforth, done properly
Gosforth is mostly inter-war and 1930s semis on generous plots with long back gardens, which is why it is the part of Newcastle we do most extensions in. The stock has the hipped roofs that hip-to-gable loft conversions were made for, and gardens deep enough that a garden room does not swallow the lawn. High Street and Salters Road sit inside a conservation area; the residential streets around them mostly do not. What that means in practice is that the roof usually has the height without needing to be raised, which keeps a loft conversion inside permitted development and off the planning register. On the extension side, the depth of these gardens means the real limit is daylight to the neighbouring windows rather than the plot itself, so the sensible design is often shorter and wider than people first ask for. We measure both at the first visit and tell you which way the numbers fall.

In their own words
Trusted by homeowners across the North East
Real customers, real names, real jobs.
On the 1930s stock here, usually — the hipped roof is the shape the conversion was designed around. What decides it is head height at the ridge, and we measure that at the first visit rather than guess it from the street. If it is marginal we will tell you then, not after you have paid for a survey.
Further than most people expect. The plots off the main roads have long back gardens, so the limit is rarely the space — it is daylight to next door and how much garden you actually want to keep. We would rather talk you down to something that leaves you a garden than build the biggest thing planning would allow.
The High Street and Salters Road are, along with a fair bit around them. Most of the residential streets behind are not. It changes what you can do to a frontage, so it is the first thing we check against your address rather than something that surfaces later.
No — the visit and the written quote are free, with no call-out charge. Gosforth is a few minutes from most of our work, so getting out to look is never the problem.
