Yes, and it is the part of the job we take most seriously here. Matching depends as much on the mortar colour and joint profile as on the stone itself — we source the closest stone available and mix mortar to match the weathered colour rather than the original.
It does. Salt is hard on fixings and finishes, so we use stainless fixings, specify coatings suited to a marine environment and choose a mortar mix for the exposure. On an exposed coastal property it is the difference between work that lasts and work that does not.
