Why us
Why Corbridge homeowners choose us
Time-served in five trades
Bricklaying, joinery, plastering, plumbing and electrical — served properly, not picked up on the way. In the industry since 1986.
Ex-Forces owned
8 years in the British Army between two stints in the trade. Timekeeping and tidiness are not extras here.
One firm for the whole job
Groundworks, brickwork, joinery, plastering, plumbing and electrical under one roof. You are not hiring five trades and refereeing when they blame each other.
The local picture
Builders in Corbridge, done properly
Corbridge is almost entirely solid stone inside a conservation area, and that dictates the work more than anything else. Lime mortar rather than cement, breathable insulation rather than modern wraps, and stone matched on colour and bed rather than bought off a pallet. Extensions are usually possible at the rear where they are not visible from the street. There are still redundant stone agricultural buildings on plots around the village, which is where our barn conversion enquiries come from. That has a direct cost consequence worth understanding early: lime work is slower than cement, stone matching takes sourcing time, and both need to be in the programme rather than discovered halfway through. We price them in at the start. On extensions, the rear is generally where consent is achievable, and we would rather have the conservation conversation before drawings than after a refusal. Access on the older village plots is often tight, which affects plant and delivery scheduling more than it affects the build itself.

In their own words
Trusted by homeowners across the North East
Real customers, real names, real jobs.
No, and it is the most common damage we are called out to in the village. Solid stone has to dry outwards and cement stops it, so the water comes out through the face of the stone instead. Lime goes back where the cement came out — slower to work with, and the only thing that leaves the wall able to breathe.
At the rear, where it is not visible from the street, usually. We have that conversation before the design rather than after it, which saves paying for drawings twice.
Matched on colour and bed rather than bought off a pallet, and reclaimed where we can get the right material. We would rather wait for stone that matches than build something that reads as a repair from the road.
No. Corbridge is inside our Hexham patch, the visit is free and so is the written quote.
